Frozen Underworld discovered beneath greenland ice sheet
- Summary : Scientists discovered frozen world under the ice sheet of northern Greenland. NASA used penetrating radar and the finding Underworld looks like skyscraper of Manhattan. Since they find this, scientists who studied Greenland have thought the shape beneath ice sheet were like mountain ranges consist of rocks. This kind of formation were caused by melting and subsequent refreezing of water at the bottom of the ice sheet.
- Persuasive : It can be huge scientific discovery to geologic or oceanography scientists. Scientists have their theory or supposed truth for most of unknown things. But when truth comes out and the general theory was wrong, there will be a lot of progress. With this discovery, we can know more about arctic, and widely earth.

Greenland minerals and energy's ore selected for demonstration plant
- Summary : Greenland Minerals and Energy(GGG) selected by the EURARE program to provide rare earth ore samples. Kvanefjeld in Greenland has massive rare earth elements for plant operation. This project is funded by Europian Union and they had already gathered 30 tonnes of ore. These 30 tonnes of ore will be transferred to Finland and they will have test operation for opening plant in 2015. The EURARE refinery demonstration plant work is planned to take place in Germany in the second half of 2015 and will produce a mixed rare earth carbonate, which is suitable as a direct feed to a separation plant.
- Persuasive : Rare-earth is one of important alternative energy. Because of fossil fuel exhaustion alternative and sustainable energy becomes more important. My major is advanced material science and I want to go to graduate school of Department of Energy Science. That is why I choose this article. Rare-earth ore has low efficiency yet, but Finland achieved 15% and still rapidly increasing. I'm sure there will be more progress and I hope Rare-earth ore can solve energy probelms to some degree.
